Pretty safe to say it will be legitimate email and the error is possibly on their part regards to the mailshot/merge or its on your part and its an old blizzard name/account you've long since forgotton about. Other Redditors have recommended online sandboxes like any.run, VirusTotal, and urlscan, so you can use those as well to analyse its behaviour. Try calculating an MD5 or SHA1/SHA256 checksum of the .pdf and searching for that on those virus scanning sites or a search engine. Source: about 2 years ago

I recently used some path queries to do some research into malicious/spoofed OAuth phishing - not sure there is anything else like it out there - or please let me know if there is! Https://urlscan.io is a good place to start. If it looks interesting or I wanna follow the link to waste some scammers time I will use a Win10 VM. Take a snapshot prior to opening the link and if it blows up the VM just revert. Source: about 2 years ago
I also really like https://urlscan.io to get a sense of a page without clicking on the link. Not a fan of clicking links I don’t know on my machine that has all my stuff. But if you have a spare laptop, can set up a bootable usb with kali Linux or similar, and isolate the spare laptop from your network, you can go threat hunting. Openiv's original website "openiv.com" appears to have been taken down permanently, the website is offline and there is no way to download the tool for gta5 modding, another website "openiv.org" appears to have popped up, however, this new site is only registered for the next 3 months, and I am unsure if the website is safe, I did a urlscan using urlscan.io and the website doesnt appear to contain malware,...
