Moong dal Sambar | பயத்தம்பருப்பு சாம்பார் - In Instant pot  Steps:   • 1. Soak 3/4 cup moong dal for 20 minutes and then in instant pot add them. Along with 2 green chilies.   • 2. I have used green capsicum and tomato’s as vegetable, you can choose to cook without veggies or any veggies of your choice.   • 3. Add 1 cup of tamarind water extracted from gooseberry sized lemon and 3/4 cup of warm water.   • 4. Paruppu Keerai Masiyal:   Steps:   • 1. Pressure cook 3 tablespoon of thuvar / massor dal along with 4 tablespoon of moong dal adding pinch of turmeric and ghee in 1 & 1/4 cup of water with 4-5 whistles. Mash it well and keep it aside.   • 2. Thoroughly wash the spinach (use any variety) and finely chop them.   • 3. In a pan add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 3/4 th teaspoon mustard, 1 teaspoon Chana dal, 1 teaspoon urad dal, 1 teaspoon cumin, 2 Kashmiri red chili and 2 green chilies.   • 4. Add dice tomato’s, add 1/2 teaspoon asafetida powder, salt and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. Sauté and cover it with lid and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add the spinach. Add 2 tablespoon of water. Mix well. Cover it with lid and cook for 5 minutes.   • 5. Then add 2 teaspoons of Rasam or sambar powder

 • 1 cup Toor dal split pigeon peas (or ¾ cup of toor dal and ¼ cup of masoor or moong dal)
 • ▢ 3 cups water
 • ▢ 1 teaspoon salt

For dal fry tempering
 • ▢ 2 tablespoon ghee or oil
 • ▢ ½ teaspoon mustard seeds rai
 • ▢ ½ teaspoon cumin seeds zeera
 • ▢ pinch asafoetida hing
 • ▢ 2 dried red chilli optional

 • ▢ 1 medium yellow onion finely chopped
