Ruidoso, NM's oldest building also known as Dowlin's Mill was built in 1868 and has served many purposes, a grist mill, saw mill, bean trasher, black smith shop, general store and post office. Many known historical figures have visited the mill, including Pat Garret, General Black Jack Pershing, Douglas MacArthur and none other that Billy the Kid. Story goes Annie Lesnet hid Billy in a flour barrel, from an approaching posse.
