Towards the end of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the shirtwaists blouses became very popular with the working women during that period.  The shirtwaists was a “ready to wear”, high-necked, button-down blouse that were available in numerous catalogs and department stores. In this picture, shows features a beige shirtwaist, high-necked blouse from the Triangle Waist Company in Greenwich Village before burning down in 1911.
