Samsonas Manual Sequential Gearbox
Sequential gears are a favorite with race cars and are standard on motorcycles. You can only select the next lower or higher gear at a time.
They allow for faster shifting times and eliminate the risk of selecting the wrong gear. Sequential transmissions are also simpler, have fewer parts, are more compact and robust.
A manual sequential transmission has a selector drum rather than a shifter linkage to select gears. When you move the lever, it rotates the drum one increment. This rotation causes the shift forks to move according to the grooves in the drum, changing the gears. Because of the drum, you have to shift in sequence.
Almost every race car that has a manual transmission uses the sequential system instead of the traditional "H" pattern. Thi
