Making Elastic Journal Closures
Difficulty: Easy
Elastic Journal Closures
• Length of elastic cord
• A button
• Glue
• Eyelet
• Hole punch (or an awl)
Find where you want your closure to sit and measure out a length of elastic that will go all the way around your journal. Punch a hole in your journal spine a little above the center. Add your eyelet; either with an eyelet setter or a cropadile. Fold the elastic cord in half and feed it through the eyelet starting from the folded end. Knit the two free ends together leaving 2 tails. Thread the button onto the elastic cord tails and tie again the secure the button. Pull the cord through the eyelet until the button touches the inner spine. Glue the button in place.
