Ww1 Camouflage

This is a German WWI helmet. WWI marked the beginning of using camouflage, this of which is the geometric variety. The goal of camo was to increase the time it takes for eyes to focus on a target, and to blend in as much as possible to the terrain. Similarly, the French used cubist artists to paint their ships as a distraction and camouflage technique.
