Usually smaller than lemons, limes are oval or round in shape having a diameter of one to two inches with green flesh and skin. They are a great substitute for lemons. They can be used for drinks, seafood dishes, chicken, meats, desserts, cakes, biscuits and marmalade. Limes are known for the antibiotic effect. They destroy putrefactive bacteria in both the intestines and the mouth; used to purify the breath.
