A key theme in Chapter 2 is the importance of collaboration with students, families, teachers, schools, and communities. Dr. Barrett stated in this chapter that we will never be able to effectively use the skills we have learned if we do not know how to work with people. Therefore, this picture represents community collaboration, sharing perspectives, and maintaining relationships. As a graduate student, I have experienced the value in collaborating with my peers and sharing perspectives with one another to bring about positive communication and experiences.
