Antique edwardian lace dress. One of the prettiest lace dresses I have been able to find. There is a French label inside the gown "Carrin Souers" . (possibly a Tarrin soeurs) See photo to decide! . One of the things I love so much about this dress is this invisibly fine layer of silk chiffon over the shattered taffeta. Fabric manufacturers no longer make chiffon this lightweight. Bust 34. (challenging ot get a true measurement due to the shattering) waist 24 hip free flexible. waist to hem: 45". (note this is slightly empire waisted). Length Center back waist to hem: 53". ** im 5'6" tall and this is surprisingly long enough for me in flats; (it is very tiny proportionally and meant for a slender person) Condition: the lace of this dress is a combination of tambour embroidered net and handmade princess lace. The lace is in very good condition. The lining, however, is completely shredded. The dress cannot be cleaned as is. It is possible that a very skilled seamstress can salvage the lace portions and recreate a new lining for it for a bride to wear. You would have ot fit the measurements. This is on my size 40 bust form and is too small for it. ** I understand this is a particularly expensive purchase so please ask any questions you have as all sales are final. Id be happy to answer anything I can. All textiles become more delicate as they age; wearing must be done gently and with care. Wear at you own risk of rips/tears/stains etc. I always recommend proper (corseted) undergarments if wearing old clothes. I don't consider this dress wearable as is; the lining would need to be replaced.
