The Yumi 1200mm fire pit is crafted from 6mm (1/4") thick Corten steel and features a clean, minimalist design. It comes with a sandblasted finish, ready for sealing or painting. The product is shipped in new condition, the rusty patina layer will start to form once the pit is put outside. Our quality: our new ZU Yumi fire pits are made of thicker 6mm(1/4") durable Corten steel. The thickness of the structure steel make them stand out from other metal sheet products. The huge fire bowl contains a single piece with no welding seams. The pit will naturally oxidize to a red colour, normally within a year. The patina layer then protects the pit from further corrosion. There is no paint nor coating, the raw Corten steel can last for decades with minimum maintenance. Our design: The Yumi fire pit comes from the shape of a Japanese long bow. The bow is exceptionally tall, standing over two meters(7 feet), surpassing the height of the archer. It gives our designer the idea of a fire pit sporting a large arch and a narrow base. Our idea rotates the Japanese bow 90 degrees, forming the blueprint for the Yumi fire pit; an uplifting arch with a large span, beautiful curve, and invisible base. This pit can serve as not only a sleek looking fire pit, but also a versatile water mirror by putting a rubber stopper to block the drainage hole or a bubble fountain/overflow fountain by running a tube through the hole. No matter its use, Yumi is one of the best choices for an outdoor water feature. Please note for water feature application, a proper sealing over the desired patina layer is recommended for the best clear water result. Available accessories: None. But we can provide the rubber stopper if you request to block the drain hole for an easy and quick water mirror conversion. Sealing options: The Yumi fire pit will be shipped in new steel condition. If you plan to use it as a water feature, we recommend pre-sealing the product before setup. Use a high-quality marine-grade epoxy to seal both the interior and exterior surfaces, followed by a UV-stable polyurethane topcoat to ensure the steel remains unaffected by water for years. However, if you intend to use it as a fire pit, a high heat-resistant topcoat is recommended. You can also leave it in its natural state and enjoy watching it develop a beautiful oxidized patina over time.
