I finally tried making edible lace—and y’all, it was way easier than I thought! 💃 As promised, here’s the recipe I used👇

Mix:
 • 4 Tbsp boiling water
 • 1 Tbsp Tylose powder (Amazon)
 • 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
 • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
 • ½ tsp light corn syrup
 • 1 drop white gel food coloring @americolor

Directions:
Stir well (yes, it’ll look like cottage cheese at first 😬). Scrape the mixture over a silicone lace mat and let it dry completely before peeling it off. This will take several hours, be patient!

✅ Ingredients
120 ml boiling water (1/2cup)
1 tbsp tylose CMC 10g -I used @saracinodolci
1 tbsp powdered sugar 8g
1tbsp cornstarch 8g
1tsp light corn syrup or glucose 7g

✅ Steps
1. Add boiling water to the CMC powder.

2. The mixture will look lumpy. That is normal!
Cover and rest for an hour and the lumps will disappear.

3. Add the cornstarch, icing sugar and corn/glucose syrup and combine well.

4. Spread evenly and thinly over a lace mat.

5. Let it dry at room temperature for several hours or in the oven at 70C/170F for 15 minutes.

6. After it has dried, peel and ready to use.

—> Comment SAND and I’ll send you a DM (direct message) with the class purchase link! (Or if you’re seeing this on FB I’ll respond with a comment ☺️)

Each cookie is meant to look like a little beach day vignette/scene and all of the intricate designs really bring the “intermediate” level in this cookie class! Pair a couple of these designs with simpler ones for a more bulk-friendly set of cookies to impress this summer.

Quite possibly the best part? Every cookie is made on a CIRCLE with JUST royal icing!! So much variety and detail achieved with just one shape and limited tools means less money and less time spent prepping!

Awhile back, my girl, Nicole, @baketoujours , shared this little bake hack, and I finally had the transfers to try it! Worked like a charm! The royal icing held up without compromising the macaron shells! Huge time saver!

Will you try this?

Mandy Edmunds on Instagram: "Elevate your cookies by using this simple trick! This is one of the easiest decorating techniques, and yet the finished product looks amazing!

There are so many different patterns of textured parchment— Florals, hearts, stars, paisley, basket weave, bricks, cobblestone, scales, geometric… and so many more!

Tip- When using textured parchment, thicker icing is better. It has less moisture so it will not only dry faster, but the pattern will be much more defined.

The parchment can also be reused several times, and you can use the reverse side, too!

I buy my parchment from a few stores on Etsy, and also from @intricutedibles

✨Happy Baking!✨
