How To Dehydrate Your Starter for a Move

Shout out to all the military families moving every 3 years (less or more). It makes committing to anything long-term, especially a sourdough starter, seem daunting. This is the solution to anyone about to move or needing to put your starter on a long pause. Dehydrating your starter is simple and easy to do. -Feed starter & wait until fully active • -Thinly spread on flat parchment paper • -Place in oven with the oven light on (DO NOT turn the oven on) • -Wait at least 48 hours until completely dry • -Blend the large flakes in a food processor or blender until a rough ground (this makes the rehydrating process quicker) -Store in an air-tight, glass container in a cool, dry place Rehydrate when ready!
