Magnificent early Kashmiri shawl in beautiful condition. This shawl resembles the popular paisley shawls of the late 1800s, but is an earlier example of a hand pieced Kashmiri shawl. Each portion of this shawl was woven on tiny looms, and then pieced together to create the lovely effect on the front side. The back is where the labor shows in the hundred of threads from the weaving and piecing together. A truly amazing artifact in excellent condition.
