This banging lamb keema curry is loosely based on my nan's Cape Malay keema a dish I loved eating when I was growing up add in some garlic and ginger and your spices which are listed in the recipe down in the caption Toss in some fresh tomatoes and then cook for another 5 minutes This will really thicken up and intensify the flavours Add in as much fresh chilli as your bottom can handle and then the mince I'm using lamb but beef is also delicious in this dish Continue cooking then add in some more fresh tomato potatoes and enough water to get this going Pop a lid on and cook over a gentle heat for 30 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked through Now at this point I like to add in a dollop of natural yogurt and some fresh coriander This curry is truly one of my favourite ever things

Beef keema 700 g

Peas 1 cup 

Potato cubes 1 cup 

Tomatoes (chopped) 1 cup 

Onion (finely chopped) 1 cup 

Oil 1/2 cup 

Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp 

Salt 1 tsp / to taste

Yogurt 1 cup 

Red chili powder 2 tsp 

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp 

Black cardamom 1

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp 

Water 1 1/2 cups 

Coriander powder 1 tsp

Ingredients for Pyaz Keema:

Beef mince 1 kg

Oil 1/2 cup

Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp

Tomatoes (chopped) 1/2 cup

Red chili powder 2 tbsp

Salt 1 tbsp

Red chili flakes 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp

Cumin powder 1 ½ tbsp

Coriander powder 2 tbsp

Yogurt 1 cup

Water 3/4 cup + 1/2 cup + 3/4 cup

Onion (sliced) 2 cups

Black pepper powder 1 tbsp

Garam masala powder 1 ½ tbsp.

Green coriander (chopped) as required

Green chilies (chopped) as required

Ingredients for Paratha:

Whole wheat flour 2 cups

All-purpose flour 1 cup

Salt 1 tsp

Ghee 1 tbsp

Water as required

Ghee (for brushing) as required

Directions for Keema Pyaz Preparation:

1. In a pan heat oil and add beef mince. Cook until water dries out and mince changes color.

1hr · 8 servings     Marination:  Minced mutton - 1 kg  • Ginger garlic & green chili paste - 2 tbsp  • Haldi - 1 tsp  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp  • Salt - 1 tsp  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp  • Mustard oil - 2 tbsp  Mix all the ingredients and keep it aside for about 30 min  For frying:  Take a pan   • add 1 tbsp of mustard oil  • Add marinated keema  • Let the mutton cook in its water on medium flame for the next 30 min  Masala preparation:  Green cardamom - 4 nos  • Laung - 5-6  • Cinnamon - 1 small stick  • (Roughly crushed all garam masala)  • Sugar - 1 tsp  • Hing - 1/2 tsp (soak with little water)  • Onion sliced - 1 kg  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp  • Kashmiri red chili powder - 2 tsp  • Bhuna zeera - 1 tsp  • Salt - to tast

Keema-pav spells Mumbai's Irani cafés to me! It is hand down one of my favourite foods ever. Here is a delicious, hereby version that I make with minced lamb (that everyone loves!). This is amazing as a Sunday brunch and can be paired with roomali rootis and parathas too.

Ingredients
 • 500 g minced lamb (with 10% fat) some fat will make the keema taste delicious
 • 1 cup peas frozen
 • 1 large onion finely chopped
 • 1 large tomato puree´d
 • 3 tbsp ginger garlic paste
 • 3-4 fresh chilis finely chopped
 • ¼ cup coriander leaves finely chopped
 • ¼ cup mint leaves finely chopped
 • ½ cup dill leaves finely chopped
 • 1 tsp black peppercorns
 • 1 black cardamom
 • 2 bay leaves
 • 3-4 cloves
 • 2 tsp red chili powder
