Homemade Hummus

INGREDIENTS
 • About 1 cup dried chickpeas
 • ½  cup raw tahini
 • Juice from 1 lemon
 • ¾  teaspoon salt
 • ¾  teaspoon teaspoon garlic powder
 • ¼  teaspoon black pepper
 • 1   teaspoon baking powder / baking soda

 • Soak the chickpeas in water for 12 hours, changing it every few hours.

 • Wash the soaked chickpeas and place them in a large pot filled with water. When the water is boiling, lower to medium heat and add a teaspoon of baking powder or baking soda. Remove the foam that is forming on top.

 • Once the chickpeas’ shells start to float, you can remove them as well.
