Flower pounding is a technique of hammering plants to create patterns on fabric. It is a very simple technique that renders gorgeous results. All you need is fresh flowers, a hammer and fabric to transfer the flowers. I pre-treated the fabric with soy milk and this was kind of a test for me as I tried flower pounding for the first time ever. I am definitely going to try this technique on different a fabric. •

🌸 Do you use a microwave flower press? If so, eventually the fabrics will become stained from the plants. I swap them out with some light cotton fabric I had saved from old curtains. These hydrangea blooms took about 80 seconds to dry. I appreciate the microwave press for small blooms like this. I use my traditional wooden presses for those times when I have lots of things to press or for larger plants. Right now my presses are full of winter ferns and monstera leaves (they take forever...
