A simple vanilla fragrance that satisfies my gourmand heart. Vanilla Woods from @the7virtues is quite lovely. I was worried about the potential for woody notes in this given the name (I’m sure you can tell I’m not a huge fan of woody notes 😖) but none of that! It sits beautifully on my skin. It’s not too heavy and I’d say the throw is average. It’s the dependable vanilla perfume you choose when you can’t make up your mind but it won’t ever leave you dissatisfied. Phlur Vanilla Smoke is a spicy, masculine, woody vanilla. At the first spray, I get a heavy dose of pepper and smoke that caused me to sneeze. It starts out smelling like cigarettes, which fades and becomes a burning pine tree. As this herbal pine note fades, the white cacao emerges. The cacao blanc reminds me of those pure, hard cocoa butter sticks. There is a confectioner’s level of bitterness. I don’t get sweet chocolate per se, but I get the bitterness that comes with it.
