Another major event that occurs in Act 2 is the marriage of Romeo and Juliet. The couple gets married by Friar Laurence, who agrees to marry them only to aid the fueding between the families. So, the couple is married, but they dont keep any of the family members aware of the situation. This also foreshadows to the sad ending of the two star-crossed lovers (Shakespeare 2.5).
