talkSPORT has been honoured with a special recognition award by the Radio Academy at this yearâs ARIAs.
The station celebrated its 25th year on air in January, expanding into Smart TV, illustrating the brandâs commitment to providing unique talkSPORT content wherever its highly-engaged audience wants it - and the ARIAâs Judgeâs Award celebrated talkSPORTâs epic milestone.
The judges said: âThis station deserves recognition not only for serving its audience brilliantly over the years, but for finding new ways to attract record numbers today.â
ARIAS Chair of Judges and former Director of Audio at BBC Studios Bob Shennan presented the award, sharing that the judges were unanimous in their decision to give talkSPORT the special award - praising the networkâs creativity and challenging other stations, and that itâs undoubtedly going through its best period now.
Head of talkSPORT Liam Fisher says, âThis is a milestone year for talkSPORT: we are 25 yearsâ young, and Iâm delighted that the ARIAs have joined the celebrations with this wonderful award. It is testament to the strength of the brand that weâre still reaching record audiences on air, whilst also driving innovation to ensure we are meeting audiences online, on YouTube and, most recently, on CTV. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to talkSports success - both past and present, on and off air. Hereâs to the next 25!â
Jim White, who was also awarded Silver in the Sports Award (Show or Presenter) category for White & Jordan, said of the win: âItâs very good. Delighted. Itâs a great old team at talkSPORT, I love it. Weâre all delighted.â
