    Definitely one of the best

I was really scared and hesitant to watch 50 episodes drama but I couldn't hold back from watching yoo ah in as amazing actor... And oh boy I wasn't not disappointed, as someone who gets bored pretty fast I couldn't find one boring episode or one unrequired scene, that's how amazing the drama was. Three of the dragons are real historical people and three were fiction(mo hyol, le bang ji, booni) but as I read later on about the foundation of josen... The drama was REALLY close to the historic events. It was a valuable lesson on the Korean history and they made it really interesting to watch.

A must watch before you die. The best series ever !

My brother who never watches Asian dramas, not even a two hour movie, let alone 50 episodes. I convinced him to watch only one episode in exchange of beers and snacks lol. He couldn't stop after episode one and bing watched it for 3 days straight! :D This series is my all time favourite followed by "Mouse". The plot, the tension, the acting. Everything is phenomenal and makes you get carried away until the very last episode. I have watched all popular kdramas and western shows. Nothing comes close to this. Just one thing you need to focus though. There are many characters and names. Don't be confused. The quotes in this series are also life changing for me. I couldn't get over this series even after a month.

    Epic Korean Drama

The story is mainly about the founding of the Joseon dynasty with a smattering of star crossed lovers. It lasts for 50 episodes and most of them deal with the court intrigue and power struggles over many years but manage to hold your interest by their clever twists and turns. I would have given it nine but for some odd reason when a character first appears on screen and often subsequently they tell you their future status. If you know for example someone is going to be the king of Joseon then you know whatever predicament they face they will survive, at least until they become the king of Joseon. I did not like any of the main characters at the end because they all had serious shortcomings which is not a bad thing as it made them more human. The only character I liked and felt sorry for was Cheok Sa Gwang a deadly assassin, which sounds odd but hopefully you will understand when you watch this excellent series.

    best Korean drama

it's one of the best , the writing the actors , the director , the scenario and every single thing about this drama is the TOP , I have watched almost all of the Korean historical shows but this one is You Must See , it's about the people who change the continuation rule of Korea history .. the story is about a true and real people you can find them in the pages of the history and dates I think people who want to see an interesting , deep story with an slight action and thriller ... this is yours , it's not about comedy or good looking people or love .. it's about people have aims and they write a new history ... it's magical , ethical , heroical and extremely typical .. I'm just so amazed about how good it was , I've got drifted away with this show .. I hope there will be more drama like it .. six flying dragons is fascinating ..

    Awesome work of art

This work of art only explores the multitute of human emotions laying bare the complexity of human interactions and the unpredictability of life in every possible way that it feels wanting for more even after 50 episodes.

    • Trivia
The title is a citation from the poem Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven. It was compiled as an official affirmation of the Joseon dynasty. The dragons represent the dynasty's ancestors: Mokjo, Ikjo, Dojo, Hwanjo, Taejo (Yi Seonggye), and Taejong (Yi Bangwon). The flight of the dragons is the Joseon dynasty's rise in accordance with "the Mandate of Heaven."
