The Leeds Institute of Fluid Dynamics (LIFD) on behalf of the University of Leeds hosted the 191st European Study Group with Industry (ESGI) focused on applying mathematical techniques to solving industrial fluid problems. This week-long workshop welcomed early career researchers in applied mathematics, fluid dynamics, engineering and related fields to investigate critical safety related areas. Specifically, three problems related to gas transport and release were considered, as proposed by our industrial partners. Solutions were developed using both analytical and numerical techniques.
