About the Collection

Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research is calling for submissions to our Collection on Winter Olympics.

As the Winter Olympics draw near, the urgency to advance our collective understanding of sports-related injuries becomes paramount. The high-intensity nature of winter sports such as snowboarding and ice hockey often results in unique challenges regarding orthopaedic trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. Historical advancements in fracture management, ligament reconstruction, and rehabilitation strategies have improved outcomes for athletes, facilitating safer returns to play. However, continued research is essential to mitigate risks and enhance injury prevention protocols. Future advancements may include innovative rehabilitation techniques, enhanced protective gear, and a deeper understanding of athlete biomechanics, ultimately fostering a safer sporting environment.

We invite researchers to contribute to this special Collection. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

- Sports injuries in winter athletes

- Orthopaedic trauma management

- Musculoskeletal disorders in extreme sports

- Fracture management strategies

- Injury prevention methodologies

- Return to play protocols

- Rehabilitation techniques for winter sports injuries
