About Spherical:
Spherical is a creative and digital marketing agency specializing in bringing iconic hospitality brands to life online. We partner with visionary hoteliers around the globe, including leading names like Rosewood Hotels, EDITION Hotels, Proper Hotels, Waldorf Astoria, and many others, to craft digital experiences that resonate deeply with guests and drive meaningful business results. Our approach blends strategic insight, emotional storytelling, and cutting-edge technology with performance-driven design to create impactful websites and digital ecosystems that both elevate brands and convert browsers into bookers.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Designer, Websites who bridges the worlds of luxury brand storytelling and high-converting digital experiences. You will set the creative standard for how our hospitality brands come to life online—designing beautiful, intuitive, and performance-optimized web experiences that capture the unique spirit of each property while driving hotel bookings and guest engagement. This includes deep fluency in Figma systems, variables, tokens, modes, component architecture, and design libraries built for scale.
This role demands both artful storytelling and commercial acumen. You'll architect information flows that guide users seamlessly from inspiration to reservation, craft visual narratives that evoke emotion and desire, and obsess over the UX details that turn site visitors into guests. Whether you come from luxury hospitality, high-end ecommerce, or premium retail digital, you understand how to marry brand elevation with conversion optimization.
What You'll Do:
- Design inspired, visually compelling websites that embody each client's brand story while optimizing for user conversion and booking behavior
- Design intuitive information architectures that make complex hotel offerings—rooms, dining, amenities, experiences—discoverable, desirable, and easy to navigate
- Apply UX/UI expertise to create seamless user journeys, from the first impression through to the booking engine, ensuring every interaction moves guests closer to conversion
- Establish and refine design patterns, interactive components, and navigation systems that balance brand expression with usability and performance
- Architect scalable design systems using tokens, nested components, variants, and responsive autolayout. Maintain clean naming conventions, constraints, and accessibility considerations for developer handoff.
- Collaborate with analytics and marketing teams to understand user behavior, translate performance data into design improvements, and A/B test creative approaches
- Work closely with our development team to ensure seamless transitions from Figma prototypes to fully interactive, responsive websites
- Explore and champion emerging design technologies, including AI-powered tools, to push creative possibilities and efficiency across projects
- Foster creative excellence, collaborate with other designers, and help grow a culture rooted in passion, collaboration, strategic thinking, and continuous learning
- Present design concepts and strategic rationale to clients with clarity and confidence, articulating how creative decisions support both brand objectives and business outcomes
- Contribute design leadership to pitches and proposals, developing standout concepts that demonstrate our ability to deliver both beauty and results
- Travel occasionally to client properties to immerse yourself in their unique environments, translating firsthand inspiration into digital design
- Collaborate with our content team to ideate, curate, and strategically place photography and video assets that support both storytelling and conversion goals
- Strong editorial eye required to balance narrative imagery with functional UI layouts.
Who You Are:
- A passionate, detail-obsessed digital designer with a refined aesthetic and proven track record in luxury brand experiences—whether in hospitality, high-end ecommerce, premium retail, or lifestyle brands
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, creating interactive prototypes and development-ready files with fluency in variables, tokens, modes, component libraries, variants, autolayout, and responsive system design.
- A strong UX/UI practitioner who grounds creative decisions in user research, behavior analysis, and conversion optimization principles
- Skilled in information architecture, with the ability to structure complex hospitality content into intuitive, effortless hierarchies that guide guests naturally through rooms, dining, amenities, and experiences without friction.
- Knowledgeable about website development processes with a strong understanding of how your designs translate into code
- A strategic thinker who balances brand storytelling with performance goals, understanding that beautiful design should also drive bookings and revenue
- Able to translate editorial storytelling into elegant, functional, conversion-led UI
- Experienced working with or designing for ecommerce flows, checkout experiences, and conversion funnels—with an appreciation for how luxury purchasing behaviors differ from standard retail.
- Collaborative, communicative, and aligned with Spherical's core values: Creative, Effective, Passionate, and Relationship-Driven
- Energized by the challenge of making the intangible tangible—translating the experience of a place into digital desire
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience designing sophisticated, high-end websites within luxury hospitality, ecommerce, premium retail, or lifestyle brands
- Demonstrated experience leading design projects from conception through execution, with a portfolio that showcases both creative excellence and business impact
- Strong portfolio highlighting exceptional website designs, thoughtful information architecture, and measurable improvements in user experience and conversion. Portfolio must include at least one robust design system or Figma library.
- Proven expertise in UX/UI design methodologies, user research, and performance-driven design iteration
- Based in NYC metro area with availability to be onsite 2–3 days per week and flexibility for occasional travel
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000
