All of RI back in ‘medium’ COVID-19 community level

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health said the CDC now has all of Rhode Island back at the medium community level for COVID-19.
Newport County was the lone area in the high level last week.
Two weeks ago, four of the five counties in the state were at the high level after an uptick in cases were reported.
At that time, RIDOH consultant Dr. Philip Chan said projections had R.I. cases trending downwards heading into the summer months.
In the most recent data, cases per 100,000 in the state have dropped to 370 from 497 and new hospital admissions have also dropped to 105 from 119.
