Information technology distribution giant Ingram Micro is on the cloud offensive. While Ingram Micro is known for staying under the radar, the company distributes desktop and notebook PCs, servers, storage devices, monitors, printers, and software to over 200,000 customers, including retailers and IT reseller, in 160 countries worldwide. Manufacturers distributed through Ingram Micro include Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Samsung, and Microsoft. Last year, Ingram Micro brought in a massive $46.5 billion in revenue. But as more businesses move to the cloud, Ingram Micro wants to help companies deploy, and manage cloud services. Ingram Micro acquired cloud service provider SoftCom in September 2013 and the company recently invested in cloud technology company Parallels to make cloud services available to its customers.
