The best developers I know manage to be as good as the "rock stars" if not better, and yet they don't trash the venue. The best developers I know encourage flourishing communities around them wherever they go.
Let's not glorify the toxic "rock stars", as though their behavior comes with the territory. It doesn't. People are just more likely to put up with it. Let's not.
