Collector's notes:
Finding this particular version was a two year search. In the course of looking for it, we encountered more than 20 false leads, most turning out to be 3.10. Only after continuing to work the collector community relentlessly were we finally able to obtain this particular specimen in poor but workable condition.

Version History:

For a major release, there was little prominence to this version. To date, only Compaq, Zenith Data Systems, and perhaps AT&T;, are known to have issued it despite rumors that several OEM vendors had agreements with Microsoft. This version included ENHDISK.SYS, Compaq's driver for hard disks that sized to 32MB (logical partition management beyond 32MB to come later with Compaq's MS-DOS 3.31 release). Like it's IBM cousin, MS-DOS 3.00 also added support for DSHD 5.25" media, as well as the ATTRIB.EXE command to manipulate file flags.
