Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute Offerings

Multiple compute options provide the flexibility to run your most demanding workloads, as well as less compute-intensive applications, in a secure and highly available cloud environment. Run small or large virtual machines right along side bare metal servers and clusters on the same virtual cloud networks, accessible through the same console and same API set. Oracle's approach includes options for local storage for both bare metal and VM instances, enabling solutions requiring high IOPS and low latency.

Bare Metal Instances

Industry-first, fully dedicated bare metal machines on a software-defined network offering market-leading compute performance and up to 5.1 million IOPS. Oracle bare metal compute is ideal for mission-critical database applications, HPC workloads, and I/O intensive web applications. Instances come with up to 52 OCPUs, up to 768 GB of RAM, up to 51 TB of locally attached NVMe SSD storage, and up to 512 TB of network attached NVMe SSD block volume storage.
Bare metal machines offer your choice of operating system and support applications requiring intensive compute and large memory resources. You can build cloud environments with performance equal or better than other clouds or on-premises infrastructure. Bare metal provides customers with exceptional isolation, visibility, and control.

Bare Metal GPU Instances

Oracle’s bare metal GPU instances enable high performance for compute-intensive workloads used by researchers, analysts, developers, and animation professionals. Our GPU shape offers two NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPUs, 28 OCPUs, and 2 x 25 GbE network interfaces to process and analyze massive data sets more efficiently, making them ideal for complex machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms.
Accelerated computing requires consistently fast infrastructure across every service. Oracle provides GPUs with market-leading price performance on the same low latency, high governance, high availability platform as all the other compute, storage, and database services you need for your portfolio of applications.

Virtual Machine Instances

Virtual Machine (VM) instances offer compute resources in many shapes, from a single OCPU to 24 OCPUs, catering to a variety of workloads and software architectures. All Oracle Cloud Infrastructure VM shapes support remote block storage, but the Dense I/O shapes also offer up to 25.6 TB of local NVMe SSD storage for applications requiring low latency, millions of IOPS, and high local storage capacity.
Leverage the same cloud-optimized hardware, firmware, storage, and networking infrastructure as the bare metal instances - accessible via the same APIs and console. Many expensive options in other clouds, such as support, are included in the per-hour charge for a VM instance.
