Thiokol solid rocket engine. In Production. Titan Retro designed to separate the second stage from the transtage on the Titan II missile and Titan launch vehicle. The motor was also adapted for other uses.

AKA: 2.80-KS-439; TE-M-344-15; Titan Retro. Status: In Production. Number: 915 . Thrust: 1.95 kN (439 lbf). Gross mass: 4.46 kg (9.83 lb). Unfuelled mass: 2.40 kg (5.20 lb). Specific impulse: 266 s. Burn time: 2.80 s. Diameter: 0.12 m (0.40 ft).

As the TE-M-488 for McDonnell Douglas, the operating temperature was lowered to -30 deg F, the skirts on both closures removed, and mounting lugs welded to the case. Mounting ears and studs on the head-end closure were provided for a Sandia National Laboratories program. Total impulse 567 kgf-s. Propellant mass fraction 0.462.
