The UK has voted to leave the European Union. It is not currently known how long that process will take or the impact that it will have on UK policy on higher education tuition fees, loans and bursaries. However, the University of Cambridge can confirm that the fee for undergraduate EU students who are already studying at Cambridge, who have an offer to study at Cambridge, or who apply to start their studies in 2017, will be at the applicable Home/EU rate (which for undergraduate students may be up to the maximum level allowed under UK law for each year) and they will not be subject to the Overseas fee rate at any point during the course of their study. Please note that all fees may be subject to increases, which may be annual.
The fees for all applicants, including Home/EU students, considering entry in 2018 (including deferred entry from 2017), have yet to be set.
Financing your studies
Whichever university you apply to, you need to consider the cost of your tuition and your living (or ‘maintenance’) costs. These amounts can seem daunting but there's lots of support available to help you finance your studies.
The details in this section are for UK/EU students. If you're from outside the EU, including Islands students (from the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), you should check International fees and costs for details.
Tuition Fees
For UK/EU students starting their first undergraduate degree, it is intended that the 2017-18 tuition fee will be £9,250 for all courses. This is subject to government approval. For UK students, It is anticipated that tuition fees will then increase for continuing students by an inflationary rate in subsequent years; however this is also subject to government approval. EU students admitted in 2017-18 will throughout their course pay the same fees as UK students. Further advice will be published in due course.
Living Costs
'Living costs' cover whatever you need to pay for, excluding tuition fees, while you're at university. We’ve estimated that students should allow approximately £8,500 per year for living costs in Cambridge (though this will vary depending on your lifestyle).
Financial Support
There are various sources of financial support available to help towards the costs at Cambridge. These fall into two broad categories: government financial support and Cambridge financial support.
