MCC Ladies Association The Midland Country Club Ladies’ Association’s last meeting of the year was April 15 at Julian Gold. Featured was an up-close look of the Escada Spring 2016 Collection.  The in-store luncheon was catered by Petroleum Club Chef Angel Brito. Guests dined on iceberg lettuce with a mayo-dijonnaise dressing, chicken roulade stuffed with spinach and ham and peach cobbler. Trip to Post Several Midlanders recently took a trip to Post, where they saw the play “The Carpenter’s Son” at Ragtown Gospel Theater, enjoyed the O.S. Museum and visited stores downtown. Those taking in the sights were Don Wedel, Vivian Wedel, Johnnie Aaron, Colleen Todd, Patti Owen, Linda Owen and Jerry Owen. Museum of the Southwest The Museum of the Southwest honored its volunteers April 7. A cocktail reception at the Blakemore Planetarium preceded the meeting at which was presented the annual report and an overview of the past year. Volunteers who were recognized were Jaime Alexander, Turner Award; Kimberly Kennedy, executive director of the Midland Downtown Farmers’ Market, Community Spirit Award; Brandy Wrangham, Anna Minjarez, Mike DeShazo and Daryl Lane, Appreciation Award; James Small, Past President Award; and James Wootan, Youth Leadership Award.
