Visiting on foot

Kettle’s Yard is located at the intersection of Castle Street and Northampton Street. The Gallery entrance is via Castle Street, which is a few minutes’ walk from Magdalene Bridge.

Visiting by train

The nearest train station is Cambridge station. Plan your journey here. By taxi it takes approximately fifteen minutes to get to Kettle’s Yard from the train station. It takes approximately 35 minutes to walk from the station to Kettle’s Yard. There are regular buses from the station to the centre of Cambridge.

Visiting by bicycle

There is a limited amount of cycle parking outside Kettle’s Yard.

Visiting by bus

Number C1 bus runs from the train station to Christ’s College, a ten minute walk up Sydney Street then over Magdalene Bridge brings you to the gallery on Castle Street.

We recommend the Park and Ride service (Madingley Road Park & Ride Service enters Cambridge via Northampton Street and stops on Bridge Street.) – 01223 718167.

Coaches should drop off parties in Northampton Street and return to collect them there. Coach parking is available on Milton Road.

Visiting by car

By Road from London; the South or the West

M11, exit J13. Turn right onto the A1303 into Cambridge (Madingley Road). At the end of this road, you will come to a mini roundabout. Turn left (lane marked straight on) onto Northampton St. Take the first left into Pound Hill (just before the Punter pub); you will find a number of metered parking spaces here. Parking in this area is free after 5pm.

By Road from the North West (From Huntingdon/Midlands)

From the A14 take the first exit signposted to Cambridge (A1037) continue along Huntingdon Road until you reach the junction with Histon Road, Victoria Road and Castle Street. Continue straight on down the hill and take the first sharp right turn on to St Peter’s Street. You will find metered parking available on St Peter’s Street and Pound Hill.

By Road from the East (From Suffolk/Norfolk A14)

From the A14 take exit 32 signposted to Cambridge/Histon, take the first left onto the B1049 signposted to Cambridge. At a set of traffic lights go straight on, you will reach a second set of traffic lights continue straight until you reach a junction, there are two lanes to go right, you need to be in the left of these, at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Castle Street. Follow the road and take the first sharp right hand turn onto St Peter’s Street. You will find metered parking available on here and Pound Hill.

By Road from the North (From Ely/King Lynn A10)

From the A10, follow the signs to Cambridge, when you reach Milton take the third exit signposted to Cambridge (A1309) continue straight through several sets of traffic lights when you reach a roundabout go straight over, you will reach another set of traffic lights, continue straight until you reach the one way system, you should be in the righthand lane, take the third exit onto Chesterton Road (the river Cam should be to your left) follow this road until you reach a junction continue straight and take the first right onto Pound Hill (The Punter pub is on the corner). You will find meter parking available here and on St Peter’s Street.
