Communications

The Communications team works closely with colleagues across the University and Colleges to ensure that communications are delivered professionally. We are responsible for maintaining and developing the University’s reputation, from design and brand management to public relations.

We deal with analysing political policy and constructing the communications and messaging around the major issues of the day, including access and higher education. Our communications officers provide training in media relations for all University staff, including guidance on handling difficult or sensitive issues.

We produce the staff newsletter, which aims to keep staff informed of new developments and to interest and inspire them with what their colleagues are doing at all levels across the institution. We also run workshops for development and communications colleagues from across Collegiate Cambridge.

We produce core publications such as the Annual Report and we look after the top levels of the website and contribute to the running of many of the University's new and social media initiatives.

We provide advice and guidance on use of the University’s brand guidelines and print, web and multi-media design and work closely with colleagues across the University.

We have responsibility for the use and protection of the University logo and registered trade mark which includes licensing its use by third parties. The house-style and brand guidelines aim to gain consistency of presentation.
