The Newsletter is primarily an internal publication which aims to inform and entertain, and help staff feel connected with the University. It is produced termly and tries to keep staff informed about new developments, to provide practical information, as well as to interest and inspire them with what people are doing at all levels across the institution.

Get involved

The Newsletter is your publication. Editor Becky Allen therefore particularly welcomes any comments on the content, and also suggestions for coverage. Submissions about personal and departmental accomplishments for the Prizes, Awards and Honours column and notices about new and departing staff for the People column are also encouraged. Please call (7)66205 or email [email protected] with ideas for articles.

Getting your copy

We send each department enough copies for its staff. This relies on someone in each department arranging for a copy to be handed out to each member of the department. We are very grateful for this.

We are always refining the distribution list so if you receive too few or too many copies please let us know on [email protected]. Thank you! The Newsletter is also made available online. The latest issue and back issues are also made available online.

Editorial schedule

The Office of External Affairs and Communications, based in the Pitt Building, is responsible for producing The Newsletter. It is published in the early stages of each term and deadlines are typically one month before then.

Internal advertisements

The Newsletter welcomes advertisements from University staff. The cost is £15 for a single insertion. Maximum word count is 70 words. Send your copy to the editor at [email protected] or call (7)66205.

Preferred payment is by cheque, made payable to the University of Cambridge. Upon receipt of the cheque, your advert will appear in the next available issue. Please send to:
