Cambridge has a long and distinctive tradition in the study of politics and international relations with particular emphasis, going back over a century, on historical, legal, economic and philosophical approaches to the study of political thought and national and international politics.

The Alcuin Lecture

Neal Ascherson, Scottish journalist and historian, gave the 2015 Alcuin Lecture on the topic of Scotland's relationship with Europe, both current and historical, on Friday 5th June at 5pm in the Alison Richard Building. A video of this lecture will be available to view and download soon.

MPhil in Public Policy

The new Master's in Public Policy (MPP) is a one-year practice oriented programme that was launched in October 2013. The MPhil in Public Policy provides an interdisciplinary grounding in public policy theory and practice, with courses ranging from philosophy and policy analysis through to media and politics.
