Magdalene is keen to encourage young people with the academic potential to succeed at Cambridge to apply here, regardless of their background. With this in mind, we run events throughout the year.
The main college Open Days in 2016 will be on 29 June, 30 June and 1 July (30 June and 1 July are also university-wide open days).
There will be college tours throughout each day led by current Magdalene students. The Admissions Tutors, staff and current Magdalene students will be available to talk with visitors. You are welcome to visit at any time during the day. There will be subject specific sessions at various times, mostly involving those who lead and teach the subject within the College.
More details on these and other events for potential applicants throughout 2015-16 will appear here in due course. In the meantime, if you want an idea, the programme for the July 2015 Open Days can be found here.
The Pepys Library is unique: a magnificent collection of 3,000 books and manuscripts put together by Samuel Pepys (1633-1703) and bequeathed at his death to Magdalene College, where he had been a student. The volumes, still preserved in the original glazed bookcases or ‘presses’ which were designed in 1666 by Pepys himself, provide a world-famous resource for scholars and researchers. Samuel Pepys’s brilliantly witty, observant and illuminating Diary is among the treasures of his Library.
Housed in the elegant and iconic Pepys Building, the Library welcomes visitors during the Public Opening Hours.
