Biography:

David Peet is responsible for infrastructure matters (the buildings and the groups which support research and teaching) and for personnel matters relating to assistant staff and postdoctoral research staff. He also oversees the educational outreach programme of the Department. He acts as Representative User on new building works and is currently overseeing the completion of the Battcock Centre for Experimental Astrophysics building, the construction of the Maxwell Centre, as well as working on the preliminary design for 'Cavendish III'. He belongs to various University Committees and Groups, including the Teaching Space Utilisation Working Group, the Athena SWAN Governance Committee, the Gender Equality Group, Working with Schools Group, Stimulus Committee, and the Personal and Professional Development Committee. He is currently researching a project on Technician Training in the University, as well as undertaking broader research work in higher education policy, practice and evaluation.
