Biography:

Antonio M. Garcia-Garcia joined the Cavendish Laboratory in 2011 as an EPSRC career acceleration fellow. Previously he held appointments in Lisbon University, Paris University and Princeton University (2004-2009).  His research group, two PhD and two postdocs, is currently supported by the European Commission, EPSRC and Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia grants. His research record includes over 50 publications on mesoscopic physics, superconductivity, quantum chromodynamics, holographic dualities and far from equilibrium dynamics. More recently his research is focused on materials design and low dimensional superconductivity.

Research Interests

I am theoretical physicist with research interests ranging from materials design to far-from equilibrium dynamics and AdS/CFT techniques in condensed matter physics. My current research is focused on optimization of materials properties, like superconductivity, by different tools including nano-engineering design and the identification of novel phases of quantum matter at and out of equilibrium. This research involves several interdisciplinary collaborations with leading experts in high energy, cold atom physics, materials and nano science.
