About

I'm a biophysicist interested in swimming microorganisms. My work explores how environmental bias affects the behaviour of populations of swimmers. I have studied the effect of gradients of flow (gyrotaxis) and chemicals (chemotaxis) on the swimming of algae and bacteria, predicting their nonclassical dispersion and propagation in porous media. Currently I am looking at how biaed swimming affects bacterial bioremediation, the growth of algae in photobioreactors and algal-bacterial symbiosis.
