First cycle : The transition Bachelor's degree
The first cycle in directing consists of 3 years of study and leads to a transition Bachelor's Degree. Each year comprises 60 learning ECTS which are split into theoretical courses , technical courses and practicals and creative workshops and artistic projects.
During those 3 years, students will follow a general programme which will introduce them to the different craft areas of fiction, documentary and television and radio broadcast direction. Those years will also be dedicated to screenwriting.
The first year of the bachelor's degree is a trial year destined to give students the theoretical, artistic and technical bases which are essential for the practice of their future profession. The programme is characterized by the important place held by the theoretical courses, technical courses and practicals. As from the second year of the Bachelor's degree, the practicals, creative workshops and artistic projects become the main support of the student's learning programme.
During the second and the third year, the programme remains general but a special emphasis is laid on documentaries during the second year and on fiction during the third year.
