World Cancer Day 2013 - IAEA Director General Statement
4 February 2013 | IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano delivered a statement to mark World Cancer Day. This year's theme - Did You Know? - provides a key opportunity to improve general knowledge about cancer and dispel misconceptions of the disease.

Any number of pollutants can get into drinking water, from arsenic, to sewage, and even petroleum. Polluted drinking water can devastate a population's health and even the national economy. The IAEA's scientists help governments around the world figure out where the pollution stems from, how to get rid of it, and how to prevent future problems, 17 January 2013.
Since 1996, the IAEA's International Physical Protection Advisory Service (IPPAS) has been helping states to identify ways to strengthen the protection of nuclear materials and facilities. Khammar Mrabit, Director, IAEA Office of Nuclear Security, discusses the purpose and goals of an IPPAS mission, 10 December 2012.
On the site of the IAEA's new Nuclear Material Laboratory, the final half of the construction work on the building is now proceeding, 10 December 2012.
