Faculties

The University of Copenhagen is divided into six faculties, which are subdivided into departments and research centres. Below you will find links to the faculty websites. Get an overview of all the departments and centres here.

Merger 2012

The University of Copenhagen has decided to merge the Faculty of Life Sciences (LIFE) and the Faculty of Science into a new Faculty of Science. Similarly, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the veterinary field at the Faculty of Life Sciences are merged into the new Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

• Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences

  Research and education in medical and health sciences, including pharmacy, public health science, humane biology, odontology and veterinary medicine.

• Faculty of Humanities

  Research and teaching in the humanities and arts deal with human language, forms of expression, culture, living conditions and history; from Antiquity to the present.

• Faculty of Law

  In addition to the classical fields of law, the research and study programmes are geared towards increasing internationalisation and new legal disciplines.

• Faculty of Science

  Research, education and public outreach at the highest international level within all natural- and bioscientific disciplines.

• Faculty of Social Sciences

  The Faculty conducts research and offers education within the disciplines of Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology.

• Faculty of Theology

  Research and education in Theology focus on a profound theoretical and practical understanding of Christianity past and present.
