American Billionaire Launching Free Israeli Daily
(IsraelNN.com) American Jewish billionaire Sheldon Adelson has decided to go ahead with plans to launch a new daily in Israel called Israel Today (not to be confused with a missionary publication by the same name). Plans for the new publication were suspended pending the outcome of his failed bid to buy the Hebrew newspaper Ma'ariv. Free newspapers depend on heavy advertising to make a profit. Media analysts have noted that Adelson's entry in the field could spark a revolution in how the media treats the news.
