Did you know your iPhone has a magnetic personality? Wait, no, that's you; your phone has a magnetic backside. Apple's MagSafe technology allows a slew of useful accessories to ride piggyback, everything from power banks and desk stands to wallets and car mounts. These items snap on with a satisfying and secure magnetic embrace and can pop right off again as needed. So if you own an iPhone 12 or later (not including the iPhone 16e, alas), check out this list of the best MagSafe accessories you can buy. I think at least a few of them will come as very pleasant surprises.

These aren't just random picks, either: I've tested all of them and can confirm they've earned a spot on our roster. But there's one important note before we dive in: Obviously these accessories will work with a "naked" iPhone, but if you keep yours in a case (which you should), make sure it's MagSafe-compatible — meaning it has an embedded magnetic ring to extend MagSafe's reach through to the back of the case. Otherwise your accessories may not lock on securely enough. (Good news: If you love your existing case but it doesn't support MagSafe, there's an inexpensive upgrade kit you can buy on Amazon. Similarly, if you have an iPhone 16e, you can buy a case that effectively adds MagSafe compatibility.)

Want to learn more about this technology, including how it works and the best ways to leverage it? See my story on how to use MagSafe. Now, on to the best MagSafe accessories! (Note that in the categories below, there's often some crossover. Some wallets also have grips, some MagSafe power banks also have stands, and so on.)

Update, Sept. 22, 2025: We checked all product prices and availability. While most of our top picks for the best Magsafe accessories remain unchanged, we did replace two battery packs that were no longer for sale.

The best MagSafe phone grip

The Snap 4 Luxe is the only iPhone grip/stand combo I've found that is, itself, magnetic, while also supporting "pass-through" wireless charging, meaning you don't have to remove it every time you want to use a charging pad or dock. (That may not sound like a big deal, but trust me, it is. I use it in tandem with the ESR wallet listed below.)

Meanwhile, it's incredibly thin—thinner than some iPhone camera "bumps," in fact—with a sturdy pop-up plastic grip that can also tilt and lock to become a stand. At $30 it's a little on the pricey side, but I've used mine daily for several months and it's still in great shape. Worth the investment!

Pros
  • Supports pass-through charging
  • Magnetic on the outside, too
  • Comfortable grip
  • Stand works in portrait and landscape orientations
Cons
  • Expensive
  • Can get hot depending on charging pad

The best MagSafe wallets

Available in black or brown, the Geo packs four useful functions into a single accessory. It's a three-card wallet, a kickstand, a finger-grip and an AirTag. Well, sort of: There's AirTag-like functionality here in that the Geo is fully compatible with Apple Find My (unlike Apple's own wallet, which has only rudimentary Find My support). Thus, if the wallet happens to go missing, you can easily pinpoint its location. The battery lasts only three months, though, and the charging cable is proprietary, but that doesn't stop me from really liking this product; it's one of my favorite MagSafe accessories.

Pros
  • Embedded Apple Find My
  • Comfortable slide-up finger grip
  • Affordable, and often discounted
Cons
  • No room to hold cash
  • Doesn't accurately report battery status
$38 at Amazon

If you like the idea of a Find My-compatible wallet, here's another option: ExtreLife's card-holder includes a spot for an actual AirTag (not included), meaning if the wallet ever goes missing, you'll have an easier time tracking it down. Meanwhile, stretchy fabric allows you to carry up to seven cards, not just two or three like in some wallets.

Pros
  • Holds up to seven cards
  • Easy AirTag insertion/removal
Cons
  • AirTag definitely adds a little bulk
$24 at Amazon

Will you like it because they put a ring on it? I think yes, because this stretchy 7-card wallet lets you slip a finger through that ring for a more secure grip. But it also rotates a full 360 degrees and swings out for phone-stand duty. I especially like the wide range of available colors, though for some reason these also have different prices: At press time, you'd pay anywhere from $9.99 to $17.99 depending on the selected color.

Pros
  • Sturdy stitching
  • Can hold up to 7 cards
  • 360-degree ring functions as both grip and stand
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Ring doesn't fold completely flat
  • Not all colors are the same price
$12 at Amazon

Most MagSafe wallets give you a card pocket and that's about it. This one does, but also opens up, billfold-style, to reveal an ID window and other pocket that can be used for cash and/or more cards. (Total card capacity here: an impressive 10.) The wallet blocks RFID signals and promises to protect your cards against demagnetization. It's also a stand, of course, suitable for portrait or landscape orientation. And ExtreLife offers this in your choice of 10 colors. I just wish it had a stretchy band or something similar at the rear for good one-handed gripping.

Pros
  • Roomy billfold-style wallet
  • Blocks RFID signals, guards against card demagnetization
  • Lots of color choices
Cons
  • No grip
$27 at Amazon

Most MagSafe wallets are just pockets; the M-Card Zip is a slim, bifold plastic case with room for up to three cards on the left and some cash on the right. The same elastic strap that holds the cash provides a comfy multi-finger phone grip on the outside of the case, and there's a cleverly designed silicone band attached to it that scrunches up to become a phone stand (albeit for landscape viewing only). You also get a little strap that can optionally affix the wallet to your phone case, just in case it comes loose in your purse or something. I'm concerned about the longevity of the plastic clasp that keeps the wallet shut, but overall I really like this design.

Pros
  • Can hold both cards and cash
  • Very comfortable stretchy grip
  • Enclosure design offers added protection for cards
Cons
  • Stand doesn't work for portrait viewing
  • Magnets could be stronger
$23 at Amazon

Available in over a dozen colors, Moft's origami-inspired, vegan-leather wallet is as slim as they come, measuring just 0.2-inch thick — at least until you add one or two cards, which is all it can accommodate. Even then, this is one of the most pocket-friendly MagSafe wallets you can get. It unfolds to become a surprisingly sturdy stand for both portrait and landscape viewing. And there's plenty of room to slip your fingers inside the fold-out for easier one-handed gripping.

Pros
  • Extremely thin
  • Works equally well with portrait and landscape viewing
Cons
  • Holds only two cards

The best MagSafe accessories for travel

This incredibly convenient charging station includes a MagSafe pad for your iPhone and wireless docks for your Apple Watch and AirPods. It folds into a travel-friendly stack when not in use but can also convert to a stand for hands-free phone viewing. It also has two USB ports for plugging in other devices if needed.

Unlike a lot of similar "sandwich" charging stations, this one is made of metal, not plastic. And it comes with an AC adapter, something that's usually missing from cheaper counterparts. I also appreciate the zippered carrying case. This is what I pack for trips now; when I arrive, I set it up beside my bed for easy overnight charging of all my Apple devices.

Pros
  • Can charge the "big three" Apple devices simultaneously
  • AC adapter and carrying case included
  • Folds flat for travel
Cons
  • Heavy for a travel accessory
$66 at Amazon

It may have "airplane" in the name, but this ingenious phone mount is designed to clip to just about anything: a desk, a table, the edge of a cupboard door, you name it. I especially like mounting it to the extended handle of my carry-on bag so I can watch movies hands-free while waiting to board my flight. The MagSafe mount arm can extend, bend and rotate to give you the best possible viewing angle. Seriously, this thing is awesome. Get one.

Pros
  • Can clip to just about tray-like surface
  • Inexpensive, and often on sale
  • Very compact when folded for travel
Cons
  • Spring clip is very stiff

The best MagSafe power banks

There's a new-and-improved battery technology in town: solid state. In a nutshell, it replaces liquid electrolytes with solid ones, the result being not only a safer battery, but also one that can last longer before it starts to degrade.

In nearly all other respects, the Kuxiu S2 is a traditional — fairly boring, even — Qi2 MagSafe battery, one with a single USB-C port for in/out charging. It's definitely priced higher than other 5,000-mAh power banks, but remember that it should last longer: up to 80% capacity after 1,000 charging cycles, roughly double that of a traditional lithium-based battery.

Pros
  • Newer, safer solid-state technology
  • Supports Qi2 MagSafe
  • 2-year warranty
Cons
  • Costs more than competing power banks
  • Only one USB port
  • No kickstand
$50 at Amazon

Although it's not quite as small as some of the marketing photos suggest, the Qi2-certified PicoGo is still a very compact 5,000-mAh MagSafe battery: just 3.4 x 2.5 x 0.5 inches. It's also smart, auto-sensing when it's connected to a phone and turning on automatically.

I also like the built-in kickstand, strong magnets and two-year warranty, which is better than most. Just note that you do pay a slight premium for the smaller size.

Pros
  • Strong magnets
  • Built-in kickstand
  • Auto-senses connected iPhone
  • Above-average warranty
  • Qi2-certified
Cons
  • Some product photos are misleading
  • Limited capacity given the price
$36 at Amazon

Why settle for charging just your iPhone when you can also charge your AirPods and/or Apple Watch? This 10,000-mAh power bank can handle all three — not simultaneously, of course, but it does have a pair of USB ports for plugging in other devices.

It also looks really cool, with orange accents and an industrial design. You also get folding AC prongs for recharging the charger, a fold-out ring stand and a USB-C cable (for external-device charging) that doubles as a finger strap — pretty ingenious. Other than the lack of Qi2 certification, this is my new-favorite MagSafe battery pack.

Pros
  • Snazzy looks
  • Low price
  • Plugs directly into wall outlet for recharging
  • Can also recharge AirPods and Apple Watch
Cons
  • Not Qi2-certified
$33 at Amazon

One downside to MagSafe charging is that it tends to be a little slow. That changes with MagSafe's Qi2-certified power bank, which promises twice-as-fast charging thanks to its 15-watt pad. Thankfully, it's no larger or heavier than similar models, though it's definitely on the pricey side. (If you're not in a rush, watch for sales; Anker products tend to get discounted regularly.) You do get a 2-year warranty, however, double that of most power banks.

Pros
  • Qi2-certified 15-watt fast-charging
  • Status window shows remaining charge time or battery life
  • 2-year warranty
Cons
  • Kickstand feels a little flimsy

The best MagSafe phone mounts

Is it expensive? Yes. Have I found a better nightstand companion for charging my iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch? No. Anker's latest is not only simple and elegant, it's also powerful, with Qi2 certification for faster phone charging and MFW for faster watch charging (up to nearly 50% in just 30 minutes, according to Anker). Does that matter if you're charging overnight anyway? Not really. But as someone who prefers the latest and greatest of everything, I'll take it.

Pros
  • Simple, elegant design
  • Fast charging for both phone and watch
  • 40-watt USB-C AC adapter included
  • Two-year warranty
Cons
  • Expensive
$111 at Amazon

To look at the Anker MagGo (weirdly named because it's designed to stay, not "go") is to see a desktop charging mount for your phone, but it's way more than that. At the rear you'll find three AC outlets, two USB Type-A ports and two USB-C ports.

In other words, this thing is the whole power package, able to supply juice to up to eight (!) items at once. I must admit, I like a desktop mount more than I thought I would; it keeps the screen upright so I don't have to reach for the phone every time a notification comes in. And this new version is Qi2-certified for the fastest available MagSafe charging.

Pros
  • Qi2-certified
  • Keeps your phone in front and all the cords at the rear
  • Three AC outlets, four 'smart' USB ports
Cons
  • Awkward to actually reach the plugs
$48 at Amazon

If you're going to use your phone for in-car navigation and whatnot, I strongly advise a mount that'll keep it close to eye level. The Velox Pro can suction to your windshield or dashboard, giving your phone not only a secure MagSafe mount, but also a charger.

Worried about heat damage from the sun? Don't be: This thing also has a fan to keep things cool. I don't love the cord that runs from the mount to your car's power port, but there's no way around it; power's gotta come from somewhere!

Pros
  • Built-in fan helps keep phone cool
  • Includes 12V power-port adapter
  • Windshield or dashboard mount
Cons
  • Fan noise
  • Extension arm covered in grease
  • Power cord is necessary but unsightly

FAQs

What is MagSafe?

MagSafe didn't originate on iPhones, but rather on Apple MacBooks as a specialized power plug. The iPhone implementation of this is quite different: a magnetic ring embedded on the backside of the phone allows you to snap on various accessories.

Which iPhones have MagSafe?

Pretty much every model from the iPhone 12 on through to the iPhone 15 — and the technology will no doubt be included in the forthcoming iPhone 16 series as well. Notably missing from the MagSafe lineup: the iPhone SE.

What's the difference between MagSafe for iPhone and MagSafe for MacBooks?

They're both based on magnets, but MagSafe for MacBooks is just for power: It's a magnetic connector that snaps onto the laptop for charging purposes. MagSafe for iPhone can be used for charging as well (as made abundantly clear by some of the products above), but also for things like grips, wallets, car mounts and more.

What are the differences between Qi2, MagSafe and Pixelsnap?

There is, thankfully, a wireless charging standard for phones, albeit with a confusing array of names. Qi (pronounced "chee") was the original version, and that's been elevated twice: first to Qi2 (15-watt charging maximum), and more recently to the current Qi2 25W standard, allowing up to 25-watt charging for compatible phones — albeit with the caveat that you use a wall charger that's capable of 30-watt power or more. Qi2 is effective synonymous with MagSafe (on iPhones) and Pixelsnap (on newer Google Pixel phones). That all boils down to this: If you're an iPhone user, it might make sense to choose a MagSafe-compatible power bank, one that can magnetically piggyback onto your device. We've listed our favorite above, but you can find lots more options in our roundup of the best MagSafe battery packs for 2025.

Will MagSafe chargers and other accessories work with Android phones?

Yes, but it's a little complicated. If a phone is certified for MagSafe (newer iPhones), Pixelsnap (Pixel 10 phones) or Qi2, you can simply snap on any power bank that's also marked as such, and it should work across brands. But the only Android phones that are currently Qi2-compatible are those Pixel phones and the more obscure HMD Skyline. What many Android phones offer instead is generic wireless charging, meaning Qi and Qi2 chargers will charge the phones, but not adhere magnetically. In some cases, a Qi2-friendly case will bridge that gap. That's why you'll see phones like the recent Samsung Z Fold 7, which tout themselves as "Qi2-ready."

One workaround here is to put your Android phone in a MagSafe-compatible case, which effectively opens the door to all manner of MagSafe accessories. Or just install something like the Mophie Snap Adapter, a metal ring that endows any reasonably thin case with MagSafe compatibility.
