The “About” section of the profile editor is where you can add personal, professional and contact details about you. This information helps others understand who you are and how to address you. For websites you are signing up with, this information enables them to personalize your experience and interactions based on your profile details. Below are the fields you can complete:

Personal
Display Name
The name that will appear publicly next to your avatar wherever it’s used. This can be your real name, a nickname, or a handle — whatever you want others to see.
About Me
A short bio or introduction that appears on your profile. You can mention your background, interests, expertise or anything that helps people get to know you better.
Location
Your current city, region, or country. This helps others understand where you’re based and can be especially useful for geographically oriented communities.
Timezone
The time zone you’re in (for example, “America/Sao_Paulo” or “GMT+1”). This ensures any timestamps on your profile or activity accurately reflect your local time.
Pronunciation
A phonetic spelling or simple guide to help others pronounce your name correctly (for example, “/ʒuˈɐ̃w/” or “Joe‑ahn”).
Pronouns
The pronouns you use (e.g., he/him, she/her, they/them). Displaying these makes it easier for others to address you respectfully.
Languages
The languages you speak or write (for example, “Portuguese (native), English (fluent)”). This helps others know in which languages they can communicate with you comfortably.
Professional
Job Title
Enter your current professional role or position (e.g., Software Engineer, Marketing Specialist, Product Manager). This label appears alongside your name and helps others understand your expertise or area of work.
Company/Organization
Specify the name of the company, organization or institution you’re affiliated with (for example, “Automattic,” “Acme Corp,” or “Freelance”). This lets others know where you work or the context in which you operate.
Contact
Show contact button on public profile
Toggle this setting to control whether a Contact button appears on your public profile. When enabled, visitors will see a quick way to reach you.
Private messages
Enable this option to add a Send Message button next to your contact info. Other users can click it to send you a direct message via your connection email.
Email
Enter the email address you’d like displayed on your profile. This makes it easy for people to contact you directly.
Phone Number
Provide a phone number if you’re comfortable sharing it. It will appear on your profile for users who prefer voice or SMS contact.
Note: The phone field has been consolidated into a single field. To remove a legacy phone value (Work or Home), make any change to the phone field and save it.
Contact Form
Paste a URL to a contact form (on your website or another service). Clicking this link will take users to a form where they can submit inquiries.
Calendar
Share a link to your scheduling calendar (e.g., Google Calendar, Calendly). Visitors can use it to view your availability and book time with you.
Make sure to keep this information current, so it stays up-to-date not only on your Gravatar profile page but also across all websites that integrate with Gravatar.
