Training camp is underway for the New Jersey Devils, and general manager Tom Fitzgerald provided an update on defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic, who has been sidelined with a knee injury.

The New Jersey Devils were dealt multiple injuries in 2024-25, and the team announced news of two more key ailments at the start of camp.

During this past off-season, the New Jersey Devils acquired defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick. At the time, this was viewed as simply a move to improve the Devils' defensive depth.
