‘You see what I see’: Patriots receiver says Drake Maye deserves MVP consideration

FOXBOROUGH — Drake Maye's second season in the NFL has been nothing short of impressive. And with his strong performance across the New England Patriots' eight games in 2025, leading the team to six wins, his name has officially entered the MVP conversation.

The chants at Gillette Stadium during the game said it all.

And while Maye has made it clear that he's not focusing on that, one of his teammates made his feelings very clear.

“You all see what I see. I think if you look around the league at the other guys too, they’re doing great stuff too. I think Drake’s doing everything they’re doing, there’s not anything that he’s not doing," wide receiver Kayshon Boutte said after the team's 32-13 win over the Browns. "At the end of the day, we’re just playing football, we’re having fun with it too, just supporting my guys.”

This season, Maye has gone 170-for-226 with a completion percentage of 75.2 percent along with throwing for 2,026 yards and 15 touchdowns, as well as adding 51 carries for 250 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He is set to go far beyond the stats he put up in his rookie season.

And this is only the beginning for the Patriots quarterback.
