This terrible news comes at a key moment for Patrick and Brittany Mahomes' team, as they enter the playoffs as clear favorites for the title.

"We don’t have an exact update on her," Current head coach Vlatko Andonovski said after the Houston game, via Soccer Wire.

"She’s in an MRI now as we speak. Once you get the results from the MRI, we’ll know a little bit more. It’s not her knee, it’s just the upper leg."

This season, Chawinga, 27, was having a great performance, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 23 games played.

Her performance was no surprise, as last campaign she scored 21 goals and provided six assists in 27 NWSL games.
