Nebraska quarterback commit throws four touchdowns in victory

A Nebraska quarterback commit had an elite performance against one of the best programs in the state of Illinois. Junior quarterback Trae Taylor was 29-for-34 for 435 yards and four TDs in Carmel Catholic's 42-14 victory over Loyola Academy.

The quarterback has thrown for 2,529 yards and 31 touchdowns while leading Carmel to a 6-2 record. Carmel Catholic will be back in action this Friday when they play Fenwick High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Taylor, safety Tory Pittman, wide receiver Jabari Watkins, and offensive tackle Matt Erickson make up Nebraska's 2027 recruiting class. Rivals ranks the group No. 4 nationally and No. 1 in the Big Ten Conference.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1, 2-1) retake the field on Saturday, Oct. 25, when they host the Northwestern Wildcats at Memorial Stadium. The kickoff time is set for 11 a.m. CT and can be seen on FS1.
